How to Prepare for Your Drive-Test:

Not all test routes are equal..... The physical ("on-road") Drive Test varies with each LOCATION. Some licence testing centres are commonly regarded as harder or easier than others, whilst others have more technically demanding, yet less dangerous, test routes than others...... Factors such as the "density of traffic", "presence of tram tracks and/or multi-lane roundabouts", and "steepness of terrain" should be considered.

The drive-test lasts approximately 30-40 minutes of “drive-time” (approx one hour if you include administrative times before and after the test)

Advice:

  1. -it is highly advised that you “prepare” yourself for the test by having some quality driving lessons (preferably in the LOCATION of your Test);

  2. -(even though you may consider yourself to be a good driver and to have been taught by a respected friend or family member, your “real-world” way of doing things may be different to what “VicRoads” expects of you during the test);
